This is an excellent opportunity for a high-performing lawyer to work alongside leading practitioners and advise Commonwealth clients on complex, sensitive and strategically significant matters.
? The Role
You’ll join a nationally recognised Government Public & Regulatory practice that continues to grow and is regarded as one of the leading teams in this space.
Working closely with experienced government and administrative law practitioners, you’ll advise Commonwealth departments and agencies across a broad range of complex matters, including:
- Admin and regulatory law.
- Statutory interpretation and government decision-making.
- Merits and judicial review.
- Commonwealth compensation claims and related litigation.
- Legislative and regulatory obligations.
- Procedural fairness, compliance and associated legal risk.
The role will also provide excellent opportunities to develop your advocacy skills, with regular exposure to proceedings before the Administrative Review Tribunal, Federal Court and Federal Circuit and Family Court . You’ll work on challenging and strategically important matters where strong technical expertise, sound judgement and a practical approach are valued. The team also works closely with leading experts in the field, providing excellent exposure to complex government and administrative law issues.
There is a genuine focus on developing lawyers according to their individual strengths, interests and longer-term career aspirations, with strong mentoring, training and support available throughout your career.
? We’re keen to hear from lawyers who have:
- At least 1 years experience in a reputable litigation practice.
- A genuine interest in Government, administrative, public or regulatory law.
- A solid foundation in administrative law and exposure to merits review, judicial review or regulatory matters will be highly regarded.
- Advocacy experience before Tribunals and/or the Federal Courts would be advantageous, but is not essential.
