Grid Connection Manager | Global Energy Storage Leader | Australia (Versatile Location, Hybrid)

The opportunity

We're partnering with a global group whose technology sits at the core of the world’s shift to clean energy. Having built their reputation on energy storage at enormous scale, they are now developing and delivering their own grid-scale projects in Australia, bringing the engineering depth of a manufacturer into the full project lifecycle, from site feasibility through to operation.

The Australian business is growing with real intent. As the business expands into new markets, there will be opportunities to help shape that next chapter too.

They are now looking for a Grid Connection Manager to lead connection activity across a portfolio spanning early-stage development right through to hold point testing, across both the NEM and WEM.

What you will be doing

- Leading all aspects of network connection, from Connection Enquiry and application through to connection agreement negotiation, financial close and beyond
- Managing TNSPs, DNSPs, AEMO and technical consultants through to NER 5.3.4 and 5.3.9 approvals
- Shaping preliminary design and connection strategy in early-stage development, with an eye on both technical and financial optimisation
- Owning the construction-phase grid scope, including R1, registration, hold point testing and R2 compliance
- Engaging in the technical and commercial grid aspects of EPC, eBoP and O&M; tenders, including inverter and PPC selection and contract negotiation
- Providing technical and techno-economic analysis to support business development and procurement




- Supporting project delivery through basic and detailed design, construction and commissioning
- Reviewing key engineering deliverables from third-party consultants and contractors
- Supporting ongoing compliance and performance reviews of operational assets

What they are looking for

- 8 years in the industry, including at least 5 in a similar role on grid-scale renewable or storage projects in Australia, with strong grid connection experience in the NEM or WEM
- A solid working knowledge of NER Chapter 5 and Australian power system engineering
- Familiarity with PSCAD, PSS/E and/or PowerFactory
- A good understanding of T&D; networks and connection requirements for storage and renewable installations
- Contract and project management experience, including budgeting and CAPEX management, is a plus
- An understanding of the contractual and legal frameworks behind construction and operation of renewable projects
- A degree in engineering, ideally electrical
- The confidence to present technical results clearly and to take accountability in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
- Full Australian working rights (sponsorship is not available)

Bonus points for BESS, solar or wind experience on projects above 50MW, transmission-connected assets at 66kV and above, exposure to US or European markets, and a willingness to travel to sites and international offices.
