A solid foundation. A planned handover. A kitchen to make your own. Panton Hill Hotel is looking for a Head Chef to lead our kitchen into its next chapter.

We’re taking the time to get this appointment right. Our plan is for the incoming Head Chef to work alongside our current chef during a structured handover to get to know the team, understanding the operation and building relationships before taking the reins.

You’ll be joining a kitchen with a solid foundation and an established team. We want someone who can build on that foundation, develop the people around them and help the kitchen do its best work.

About the role

This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing food quality, service, menu development and the day-to-day running of the kitchen. Key responsibilities

- Leading the kitchen through daily service, functions and peak trading periods
- Maintaining consistent food quality, presentation and timing




- Developing menus that suit our venue, our guests and the strengths of the team
- Managing food costs, ordering, stock control and kitchen rosters
- Coaching chefs and kitchen staff, building their skills and confidence
- Maintaining food safety standards and a clean, organised kitchen
- Working closely with ownership and venue management with clear responsibilities and regular communication

About you

- Experience in a busy pub, restaurant or comparable kitchen
- Strong cooking skills and sound commercial judgement
- The ability to plan ahead and keep service organised
- A direct, respectful approach to communication
- A genuine interest in developing and retaining a good team
- You may be an experienced Head Chef or a strong Sous Chef ready to step into leadership with a proper handover and support
