About the role

Reporting to the EGM Commercial, this is an exceptional leadership opportunity for a strategic thinker who thrives on creating impact. As Head of Category, you will inspire a high-performing team, influence key business decisions, and lead the development and execution of category strategies that strengthen our market position and deliver outstanding customer value.

What you'll do

- Create and champion a forward-thinking category strategy that fuels growth and delivers a compelling, customer-focused product offering across the Lawrence & Hanson network
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing Category Management team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and accountability across Commercial, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain and Sonepar's global network
- Build strong and enduring supplier partnerships, negotiating mutually beneficial commercial outcomes while ensuring product availability, value creation and long-term growth
- Drive category performance by balancing commercial success with strategic objectives, optimising pricing, stock management, supplier income and overall profitability

You are a commercially astute leader with a passion for strategy, people and performance. You bring:

- A tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Marketing or a related discipline
- Extensive category management experience within relevant industry channels
- A proven track record of developing and executing category strategies that deliver revenue growth, increased market share and customer value
- Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate data, market trends and customer insights into strategic action
- Experience operating in a rapid-paced, geographically dispersed environment, managing multiple priorities with confidence
- Outstanding communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted and influential relationships
- Resilience, initiative and a drive to continually improve and innovate
