Heavy Rigid (HR) Truck Driver

About the Role

We are looking for reliable and safety-focused Heavy Rigid (HR) Truck Drivers to join our growing transport operation.

The role involves operating HR vehicles to undertake metro and local deliveries, primarily transporting beverage products between distribution facilities, customers and delivery locations.

This is a hands-on role suited to drivers who take pride in safe driving, punctual deliveries and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

● Safely operate Heavy Rigid (HR) trucks in accordance with NSW road and transport regulations.

● Complete scheduled metro and local deliveries efficiently and safely.

● Load, unload and secure freight in accordance with company procedures.

● Conduct daily vehicle pre-start and safety checks.

● Ensure freight is correctly handled and delivered without damage.

● Complete delivery documentation, electronic PODs and other required paperwork.

● Maintain accurate records of hours, deliveries, vehicle checks and incidents.

● Communicate with the transport team regarding delivery schedules, delays or issues.

● Provide professional and courteous service to customers and site personnel.

● Report vehicle defects, damage, incidents and safety concerns promptly.

● Maintain the truck in a clean and presentable condition.

● Follow company WHS, fatigue-management and chain-of-responsibility requirements.

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

● A current HR (Heavy Rigid) driver’s licence.

● Previous experience driving HR vehicles, preferably in transport,



logistics or beverage distribution.

● A robust commitment to safety and compliance.

● Good knowledge of metropolitan roads and delivery locations.

● Good communication and customer-service skills.

● Ability to safely handle and secure freight.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

● Reliable attendance and a professional attitude.

● Good time-management and organisational skills.

● A good understanding of fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility obligations.

Desirable

● Experience with beverage, FMCG or palletised freight deliveries.

● Experience operating tailgate/liftgate equipment or other loading equipment.

● Experience using electronic Proof of Delivery (POD) systems.

● Forklift licence.

● Previous experience with multi-drop or scheduled metro deliveries.
