An exciting opportunity has become available for a Heritage Lead to take ownership of a high-performing team, drive business growth, and provide expert heritage advice across a diverse portfolio of projects. This role combines technical leadership, strategic business development, team management, and client engagement, making it ideal for a recognised industry leader seeking their next challenge. Based on the position description, the role leads a heritage practice, provides strategic and operational leadership, and contributes to executive-level business planning and growth initiatives.

The Opportunity

As Heritage Lead, you will be responsible for the overall success of the heritage practice, overseeing project delivery, financial performance, business development, and team leadership. Working closely with senior leaders across the business, you will help shape strategy, strengthen market presence, and ensure the delivery of exceptional outcomes for clients. This is a rare opportunity to influence the future direction of a well-established consultancy while continuing to work on significant heritage projects across multiple sectors.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage a team of heritage professionals

- Provide high-level strategic heritage advice to clients and stakeholders

- Drive business development and identify growth opportunities

- Oversee project performance,



resourcing and financial management

- Build and maintain strong client and industry relationships

- Lead complex heritage assessments and approvals processes

- Mentor and develop team capability and succession planning

- Contribute to broader business strategy as part of the leadership team

About You To be successful, you will bring:

- Extensive experience within heritage consulting, planning or advisory.

- Demonstrated success leading teams and managing business performance.

- Strong commercial awareness and business development capability.

- An established network across the heritage, planning and built environment sectors.

- Experience managing major projects, key accounts and senior stakeholder relationships.

- Strong understanding of heritage legislation, assessment and approvals processes.

- Exceptional communication, leadership and relationship-building skills.

- Qualifications in Heritage, Planning, Architecture, Archaeology, History or a related discipline.

- Qualified accreditation and industry recognition highly regarded.
