- Victorian Unrestricted Electrical Licence (A-Grade) or equivalent recognised in Victoria.
- Trade qualification as an electrician, or electrical engineering qualification with HV field experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in HV switching and access control on networks of 11 kV to 66 kV.
- Demonstrated experience issuing and managing access permits and sanctions under the Blue Book or an equivalent HV safety code.
- Experience energising new HV infrastructure during construction and commissioning.
- Current Victorian driver’s licence.
Desirable
- Experience on major infrastructure, transport or data centre projects.
- Operating experience with network service provider interfaces (for example AusNet, CitiPower, Powercor, Jemena or United Energy).
- HV testing and protection commissioning background.
- Familiarity with completions management systems.
Skills and attributes
- Robust safety leadership and the confidence to stop work or refuse access when conditions are not safe.
- Detailed knowledge of the Blue Book, the Electricity Safety Act 1998 (Victoria), the Electricity Safety (General) Regulations, and the OHS Act 2004 (Victoria).
- Working knowledge of AS 2067, AS/NZS 3000, and the network service provider’s operating rules.
- Ability to read and maintain single line diagrams, protection schematics and operating diagrams.
- Clear, disciplined communication, including three-way communication during switching.
- Accurate record keeping under time pressure.
- Ability to plan and coordinate outages across multiple contractors and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and review Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) for HV operations.
