About the role
We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor / Coordinator to join our team in a part time, office-based role.
This is a broad generalist HR position with a strong focus on employee relations, workplace matters, performance management, investigations, disciplinary processes, employment compliance and practical HR advice to management.
You will work closely with our Directors, Business Development Manager, Operations Manager, Rostering team and Service Coordinators across day-to-day HR and workforce matters.
Strong working knowledge of the SCHADS Award is essential, particularly in relation to hours of work, rostering, classifications, allowances, overtime, penalties and other employment conditions.
Our Office Manager oversees general administration and can assist with routine coordination and administrative tasks, allowing you to focus on employee relations, workforce matters and HR issues where your judgement and experience add the greatest value.
Key responsibilities
- Providing practical HR and employee relations advice to management
- Managing and supporting workplace complaints, grievances and workplace conflict
- Conducting or supporting workplace investigations
- Supporting performance management and performance improvement processes
- Preparing for and participating in disciplinary, show cause and performance meetings
- Preparing warnings, outcome letters and other formal HR correspondence
- Supporting termination, dismissal, resignation and other employment cessation processes
- Advising on probation, attendance, employee conduct and workplace behaviour matters
- Interpreting and applying the SCHADS Award, Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards,
employment contracts and HR policies
- Coordinating recruitment, interviews, pre-employment screening and employment offers
- Reviewing and updating HR policies, procedures and employment documentation
- Supporting employee compliance, training and workforce related HR matters
- Assisting managers with employee related roster matters, contracted hours and employment conditions
- Maintaining accurate, confidential and well documented HR records and case files
- Supporting continuous improvement of HR systems, processes and workplace practices
About you
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in human resources, Employment Relations, Business with a Human Resources major, or a closely related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in an HR Advisor, HR Coordinator, HR Generalist or similar role
- Strong practical employee relations experience
- Strong practical working knowledge of the SCHADS Award
- Sound working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards and Contemporary Awards
- Experience with performance management and disciplinary processes
- Experience managing or supporting workplace complaints, grievances and investigations
- Experience supporting termination and dismissal processes
- Ability to interpret and apply the SCHADS Award, employment contracts, workplace policies and relevant employment conditions in day-to-day HR advice
- Strong written communication skills,
particularly formal HR correspondence
- Confidence conducting difficult workplace conversations and meetings
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement • High level of confidentiality and discretion • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail • Ability to work collaboratively with managers across different areas of the organisation
