Monday HR

Perth

At Monday HR, we create workplaces where people can look forward to Monday.

About the Company

Monday HR is a boutique consulting firm providing tailored human resources solutions. We know HR can sometimes have a bad reputation, so we’re on a mission to make it a more influential, modern and relevant function in small and medium-sized organisations.

We design high-impact employee experiences across strategy, recruitment, onboarding, HR technology, engagement, performance, culture and compliance.

Our clients are leaders in their fields, working across industries including hospitality, education, skilled services, beauty, retail, not-for-profit and digital.

Some clients work with us on a monthly retainer, with Monday HR acting as their long-term HR department but we also take on one-off projects to transform core HR processes.

We’re a small business ourselves, so we’re nimble and thrive in an ever-changing environment. No two days are the same and that’s just how we like it!

The Opportunity

As we grow, we’re looking for a part-time Senior HR/IR Consultant to join our team. You’ll focus on client delivery and act as the primary consultant for key client engagements.

You’ll bring broad HR generalist experience and deep expertise across the employee lifecycle. Experience in industrial relations is essential: our clients rely on us for timely, high-quality advice on Fair Work requirements and other employment legislation, where compliance risks can be significant.

Most of your time will be spent providing HR/IR advice and helping clients solve complex people challenges. You’ll lead major change projects, work through sensitive interpersonal issues, and advise on a range of reactive and proactive people matters.

You’ll be highly organised and confident,

with the ability to switch between priorities with ease.

What you’ll do

- Quickly understand business owners’ needs and challenges when it comes to their team.

- Proactively identify opportunities for clients to improve their people practices, processes and team effectiveness.

- Review client data and conduct compliance audits, including award coverage, classifications and pay.

- Respond to clients’ day-to-day employee questions with professionalism and accuracy.

- Coach and support leaders to manage their own HR matters.

- Communicate and implement workplace changes, such as updated contracts and improved HR processes.

- Identify and pursue opportunities to generate new client engagements and contribute to the growth of the business (and earn referral bonuses)

- Help the Monday HR team run workshops and deliver on-site training, and represent the Monday HR brand.

- Manage your timesheets, work within client budgets and build strong client relationships.

Who you are:

- You hold an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in HR and/or IR, and have at least 8 years’ experience.

- You’ve worked as an HR Manager (or in a similar role) in a fast-paced organisation, or you have consulting experience.

- You can set priorities in a changing workplace and make sure key deliverables are met.

- You have strong analytical and interpersonal skills,

and enjoy engaging with clients and building lasting relationships.

- You bring a positive attitude, strong attention to detail and a collaborative mindset, and are comfortable working at a fast pace.

- You’re an excellent communicator who is reliable and highly organised.

Life at Monday HR

We’re proud to have built a workplace where we genuinely look forward to Mondays.

We’re busy people who chose consulting because we love the flexibility, autonomy and variety it offers. We often work one or two days a week from the beautiful Vitality House in West Leederville, with the rest of the week spent working from home or at client sites.

We set high standards for productivity, professionalism, quality of advice and client relationships. We trust one another and always have each other’s backs.

As part of the team, you’ll have access to referral bonuses (for introducing new clients), regular training opportunities, team social events, wellness sessions at Vitality House and plenty of discounted wine through our other family businesses.

We’re looking for someone who can do excellent technical work and is also excited to help Monday HR grow, share in its long-term success and have fun along the way.

How to Apply

Please submit your current resume and a short cover letter explaining why this role feels like the right next step for you. We see recruitment as a two-way process, so it’s just as important that Monday HR is the right fit for you.

We’re initially looking for someone to join us two to three days a week from early 2027, though we’re open to discussing arrangements with the right person. The role is based in Perth, WA, and applicants must be based in WA.
