HSEQ Project Coordinator
Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HSEQ Project Coordinator to join a progressive head contractor specialising in electrical infrastructure projects, including high voltage substations, grid connections, and battery energy storage (BESS). Responsibilities
Supporting the HSEQ Manager
- Maintain and administer the integrated management system in compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001, as well as OFSC requirements.
- Coordinate project HSEQ documentation, including management plans, SWMS, risk assessments, ITPs, and permits.
- Track and report on HSEQ performance, including incidents, hazards, inspections, and lead/lag indicators.
- Support incident reporting and investigations, ensuring corrective actions are followed through to completion.
- Assist with internal audits, client audits, and external certification audits.
- Manage training, inductions, competency, and licence records for staff and subcontractors.
- Support subcontractor HSEQ prequalification and document reviews.
- Help implement digital HSEQ tools to improve efficiency and data visibility.
- Conduct site visits across NSW and Victoria to support inspections, toolbox talks, and audits.
Supporting the Project Managers:
- Coordinate project documentation and document control, including registers, transmittals, and RFIs.
- Prepare progress reports, meeting minutes,
and action trackers for internal and client meetings.
- Support project start-up and mobilisation, including onboarding, inductions, and site documentation.
- Track procurement, deliveries, and subcontractor paperwork.
- Assemble quality records and handover packs, including ITP close-out and as-built documentation.
- Act as a reliable point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and site teams for day-to-day coordination.
Qualifications
Essential
- Proven experience in an HSEQ coordination or support role within construction, infrastructure, or energy sectors.
- Experience in a project coordination or project support role, preferably on construction projects.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 management systems.
- Solid understanding of NSW WHS legislation and construction site safety requirements.
- Strong organisational and document control skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and familiarity with document management or HSEQ software.
- Current driver’s licence and White Card.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with HV, substations, BESS, renewables, or utility projects.
- Familiarity with TNSPs or DNSPs.
- Knowledge of OFSC accreditation or Principal Contractor environments.
- A Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS, Quality, or Project Management.
- Lead or internal auditor training.
- Experience with platforms such as Aconex, Procore, or similar.

You’ll be the vital link between HSEQ and project delivery, ensuring systems are compliant and projects are organised, documented, and progressing smoothly.
