The Digital Strategy and Planning (DSP) Branch provides strategic leadership, governance, planning and assurance across DVA's digital and ICT portfolio. DSP supports the Department to make informed investment decisions, maintain delivery confidence, manage technology risks, and ensure ICT initiatives align with departmental priorities and government requirements. The branch is responsible for strategic planning, architecture, portfolio oversight, investment governance, digital transformation, and assurance functions that support the effective management of ICT services and investments.

ICT Assurance within DSP provides governance, financial assurance and oversight across ICT services, operational funding and investment activities. The team supports informed decision-making by providing evidence-based assurance over ICT expenditure, service arrangements, budgets, procurements, invoices and investments.

The APS5 ICT Assurance Officer supports the delivery of the team’s administrative, financial and governance functions. Working under limited direction, the officer maintains assurance information, undertakes analysis and quality checks, coordinates routine assurance activities and works with stakeholders to progress agreed outcomes.

- Support administrative assurance and governance activities across ICT services, expenditure and investments.
- Monitor and triage the ICT Assurance shared mailbox, record requests and coordinate routine follow-up actions.
- Maintain assurance registers, trackers, data sets, reporting artefacts, dashboards and document repositories.
- Gather, verify and analyse information from financial reports,



invoices, spending proposals, procurement documents and supporting evidence.
- Assist with budget monitoring and reconciliation by maintaining financial records and identifying missing, inconsistent or unresolved information.
- Support assurance of ICT service offers, shared services arrangements, third-party expenditure, invoices and procurement activities.
- Prepare routine correspondence, briefings, reports, presentations, meeting papers and executive reporting material.
- Liaise with internal business areas, Finance Business Partners, contract managers, project teams, Services Australia and suppliers to obtain information and progress activities.
- Maintain records in accordance with departmental privacy, security, information management and records-management requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of assurance processes, templates, guidance and team operating practices.
- Manage competing priorities and deliver assigned work within agreed timeframes, escalating risks and issues when required.
- Demonstrate commitment to the APS Values, Employment Principles and Code of Conduct.

- Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999,



employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
- Any successful candidate external to DVA offered employment will be required to undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.
- Any successful candidate will also be required to obtain and/or maintain, a baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance as a minimum.

A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.

Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.
