About the Role The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (Cth) (CDPP) are seeking a seasoned, hands-on infrastructure expert to step into a pivotal technical expertise advisory role within the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) branch.

Working within the ICT Service Delivery team, the ICT Technical Engineer is responsible for the operational management, maintenance and continuous improvement of the agency’s core ICT environment.

You will

- Provide hands on technical expertise of CDPP’s enterprise environment, spearheading major ecosystem enhancements while mentoring ICT staff to elevate our overall internal capability;
- Lead ICT infrastructure projects, including system upgrades, migrations and infrastructure uplift initiatives and maintain business-as-usual operations; and
- Contribute to the technical direction of the ICT environment and play an active role in strengthening the agency’s cyber security posture in alignment with Australian Government requirements.

You will bring:

- Deep Infrastructure Expertise: A strong background managing and evolving complex enterprise Microsoft and cloud ecosystems, hands on experience to lead successful migrations and architectural enhancements;
- A Security-First Mindset: A thorough understanding of Australian Government compliance frameworks, including the Information Security Manual (ISM), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), and Essential Eight maturity models, ensuring security is baked into every technical solution you oversee;
- Strong Analytical Judgement: The ability to look past superficial fixes to diagnose systemic infrastructure risks, balancing urgent troubleshooting with sustainable, long-term engineering strategies;




- Mentorship and Leadership: A passion for coaching technical teams, translating complex problems into clear learning opportunities for Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical staff; and
- Strategic Communication: The capability to write transparent policy documentation and articulate technical risks or architectural benefits to both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Reporting to the ICT Service Delivery Manager, in addition to meeting the EL1 work level standards and Integrated Leadership System, you will:

- Provide technical expertise in continuous improvement of core ICT platforms and infrastructure at the CDPP, ensuring systems are reliable, secure and fit for purpose;
- Plan and implement system upgrades and migrations across enterprise Microsoft environments, including Windows Server, SQL, Exchange, SharePoint and Microsoft 365/Azure, with a focus on minimising disruption and improving overall CDPP’s ICT capability;
- Provide advanced technical support and guidance, resolving complex issues and supporting team members to build capability across Level 2 and Level 3 support functions;
- Contribute to and, where required, lead ICT infrastructure projects and technology uplift initiatives, ensuring delivery aligns with the CDPP’s business priorities and outcomes;
- Provide expert advice on ICT security and compliance, ensuring CDPP’s systems and processes align with the Australian Government frameworks such as the ISM, PSPF and Essential Eight;
- Support the development and continuous improvement of ICT policies, procedures and operational documentation, ensuring they are current and aligned to agency needs;
- Apply sound judgement to identify,



analyse and resolve complex technical issues, balancing immediate fixes with longer-term solutions; and
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify risks to availability, integrity or security. Escalate issues and recommend mitigation strategies as needed.

- The ability to obtain and maintain an AGSVA NV1 clearance (highly desirable for applicants to hold an active NV1)
- Australian Citizenship

Desirable requriements:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in ICT highly regarded
- Experience in a Federal Government department and/or industry certification in Windows server and network administration
- Experience with SD-WAN / SASE
