About the opportunity

Our client is Australia’s leading integrated building services provider. It specialises in rebuilding and restoring properties after insurable events such as storms, fire and impact damage. Its clients include major insurers, brokers, loss adjusters, strata managers and government bodies. Its culture is built on four values: Respect, Integrity, Courtesy and Honesty.

The South Australian team is growing and needs Supervisors and Estimators. They are open to two types of people:

- Experienced insurance building professionals
- Carpenters with solid hands-on experience who want to move off the tools into a long-term career

Supervisor – what you’ll do Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll take insurance building and restoration jobs from claim acceptance through to practical completion.

- Manage a portfolio of residential and commercial insurance jobs, mainly across metropolitan Adelaide
- Inspect sites, assess damage and prepare accurate scopes of works
- Schedule and coordinate subcontractors and trades across multiple active jobs
- Monitor progress, quality and compliance with scope, building codes and WHS requirements
- Identify, document and escalate variations
- Be the main point of contact for homeowners, providing clear and empathetic updates
- Liaise with insurance case managers, loss adjusters and brokers
- Keep job records, purchase orders, job costs and handover documentation accurate in the company’s systems

Estimator – what you’ll do

- Attend site inspections to assess damage and determine the scope of works
- Prepare accurate scopes and cost estimates in line with insurer guidelines
- Manage quotes and variations, and liaise with loss adjusters and insurers




- Work closely with Supervisors to make sure jobs are priced to be delivered

About you

- Either experience in insurance building, residential building or supervision, or solid carpentry experience and the drive to step into management
- Trade qualification in carpentry, or a relevant building licence or registration
- Able to read and interpret plans, scopes and specifications
- Working knowledge of building codes and WHS requirements
- Clear, empathetic communication and composure under pressure
- Organised and self-managing, with the ability to juggle multiple jobs
- Current driver’s licence (regional SA travel is occasional and rare)
- Highly regarded: insurance or restoration experience, scope writing, working with loss adjusters, job management software, Cert IV in Building and Construction

Package

- $85,000 – $150,000 base, depending on experience
- Fully maintained company vehicle with full personal use
- Phone and tools of trade
- Superannuation on top of base
