Integration Architect (Dayforce Ascender Pay) | Enterprise Transformation Programme

About the Position

We are currently seeking an experienced Integration Architect with Dayforce Ascender Pay experience to join a major enterprise transformation programme for a major Western Australian University. You will own the integration architecture connecting Ascender Pay with the programme's new and existing platforms, setting the standards, patterns and migration roadmap from discovery through to Architecture Review Board sign-off.

As core enterprise systems are replaced and modernised, you will work alongside enterprise architects, programme leadership and payroll and HR stakeholders to design secure, scalable API-led integration across cloud, SaaS and on-premises applications. The role suits an architect who understands how payroll data moves through an organisation and who has delivered within large, multi-stream programmes.

Role Responsibilities

- Design and own integrations between Dayforce Ascender Pay and surrounding enterprise systems, including [HR, finance, rostering and identity platforms]
- Define integration standards and patterns for payroll and HR data, and secure stakeholder consensus and adoption
- Conduct gap analysis between existing integration patterns and the target state, identifying risks and interoperability issues
- Plan and design the migration of integration services from legacy platforms as systems are replaced, including transition and cutover approach




- Work across programme workstreams to keep integration designs consistent and aligned to the target-state architecture
- Align solution designs with Enterprise Architecture principles and present to the Architecture Review Board for governance approval
- Embed security into every design, with particular attention to sensitive payroll and employee data
- Document integration standards, patterns and solution designs

- API gateway and mesh: Kong Gateway, Kong Mesh, IBM API Connect, IBM DataPower
- Integration platforms: MuleSoft 4 / CloudHub, IBM IIB / ACE, IBM MQ
- Cloud: AWS, Azure, OpenShift (including ARO)
- Security: OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWS, TLS, Azure Entra ID, AWS IAM

Skills & Experience Required

- Proven experience designing or delivering integrations with Dayforce Ascender Pay (or Alesco)
- Extensive enterprise integration experience, including recent work as an Integration or Solutions Architect
- Experience delivering integration architecture within a large transformation or modernisation programme, including legacy-to-SaaS migration
- Sound understanding of payroll and HR data flows and the controls around them
- Hands-on background in at least one major integration platform (Kong, MuleSoft or IBM IIB / ACE)
- Strong knowledge of microservices, event-driven, SOA and ESB architectures
- Confidence engaging and influencing senior stakeholders and architecture governance forums
- TOGAF certification highly regarded; AWS or Azure certifications desirable
- Solid documentation and communication skills
