Inventory and Fulfilment ControllerMeir | Full Time | Office - Based
You know your stock position before anyone asks, and you want a role that expects that.
This is a recent role, created to give our inventory and fulfilment function a single owner.
The demand plan, stock policy, supplier and 3PL standards, and inventory data all sit with you.
We sell into 40+ countries, with supply running between China and Australia. The brief is to build a function that is process-driven, system-led, measurable and able to perform consistently without relying on individual knowledge or constant executive intervention.
About Us A true garage-to-global story, Meir is an Australian-owned brand that has grown from humble beginnings to a formidable presence in the global market. We specialise in premium tapware and bathroom products, backed by our lifetime guarantee and a relentless commitment to quality and design. We Do It Better isn't just our mission statement, it's how we operate, every single day.
The Role
You own the Inventory & Fulfilment result and lead the team responsible for delivering it.
This is approximately an 80% control, leadership, analysis and decision-making role and 20% deliberate hands-on execution.
- Own the demand forecast and replenishment plan, reviewed against sales, committed demand and pipeline.
- Set and maintain inventory policy, including Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 stock requirements, safety stock and lead times.
- Own stock availability across Australia and China.
- Own backorder performance and ensure aged backorders are actively managed and resolved.
- Own inventory accuracy, stocktake governance and cycle-count standards.
- Own SLOB and excess inventory and bring forward costed disposition recommendations.
- Manage stock turns and working-capital performance against agreed business targets.
- Manage supplier operational performance against agreed lead-time, quality and delivery standards.
- Hold our 3PL accountable for inventory accuracy and fulfilment performance.
- Manage freight-forwarder operational performance and identify risks to customer delivery.
- Own Acumatica as the Single Source of Truth for inventory and fulfilment information.
- Ensure factory commitments, production dates, ETDs, ETAs, backorders and inventory positions are accurately maintained in the ERP.
- Run the weekly Inventory & Fulfilment review and provide clear reporting on risks, trends and corrective actions.
- Lead, coach and develop the Inventory & Fulfilment team, addressing performance early and fairly.
- Ensure risks are identified and acted upon before they affect the customer.
You do not escalate analysis. You investigate the issue, understand the numbers and bring the decision and recommended course of action to the COO. This is a full-time, site-based role reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
Who We're Looking For
You see inventory as a commercial and customer-delivery lever, not an administrative function.
You understand the relationship between availability, working capital, stock turns, customer fulfilment and profitability.
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong ownership of inventory, demand planning or supply-chain outcomes in a product-based business.
- Experience leading an inventory,
planning or fulfilment team.
- Commercial fluency in stock turns, working capital and inventory investment.
- Strong demand-planning and replenishment capability.
- Experience managing 3PL and supplier performance.
- Experience with international supply chains, ideally including China-based manufacturing.
- Strong ERP and data capability.
- A natural tendency to investigate variances and understand why the number moved before reporting it.
- The ability to challenge, make decisions and hold others accountable constructively.
The non-negotiables are simple: You own your numbers.
You understand the cause before you report the result.
You raise risk early.
And when you raise a problem, you bring a recommendation.
Must Have Values
These are not aspirational. They are the minimum we expect from everyone here.
Respect: Is kind and behaves with good intent. Treats others the way they want to be treated, with empathy. Listens without prejudice and remains calm.
Team Work: Contributes with positivity and optimism (glass half full). Respects others' point of view, non-judging and helpful. Works towards a common goal.
Integrity: Talks about people only when they're in the room. Doing what's right when no one's looking. Do what you say you're going to do.
What's on Offer
- A new role with clear ownership of the function
- Scope to set targets, policy and the stockholding budget
- A premium, Australian-owned brand sold in 40+ countries
- A close team inside a growing global business
If this reflects how you work and the remit you are after, we would like to hear from you. Send through your CV and, if you'd like, a short note describing an inventory, supply-chain or fulfilment result that you personally owned and improved.
