Arcos are seeking a Project Engineer Manager with 5+ years' experience in construction to join our construction team on the Sunshine Coast in a full time role. Working with our construction lead and a team of talented engineers and designers, you'll take ownership of the contract administration and construction-phase services we deliver to clients across a diverse and active pipeline of civil & structural projects, including buildings.

Success in this position means the ability to ensure works are delivered in accordance with the design, contract and quality requirements – providing sound and impartial contract administration, managing contractor and client relationships, and fostering team development.

Key responsibilities

Act as superintendent's representative on civil & structural projects, administering contracts fairly and impartially within delegated authority.

Assess contractor progress claims, variations and extension of time claims, and prepare payment certificates, directions and notices in accordance with the contract.

Review contractor submittals, shop drawings and Inspection and Test Plans for conformance with the design and specification.

Attend hold and witness point inspections, record observations and hold point releases, and raise and close out Non-Conformance Reports.

Certify works for acceptance, including civil as-constructed review and on/off-maintenance certification, and Form 16 inspection certificates for structural works.

Provide design support during construction, including coordinating RFI responses,

reviewing contractor-proposed alternatives and temporary-works interfaces, and issuing design clarifications with the design team.

Chair site meetings and prepare progress reporting for clients.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary consultants.

Manage time effectively to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

Contribute to continuous improvement of contract administration practices and project outcomes.

About you

Tertiary qualification in civil engineering, construction management or a related discipline.

Minimum 5 years' experience in construction, contract administration or superintendent roles, ideally on civil & structural projects.

Construction White Card and current driver's licence.

Sound understanding of standard form construction contracts (e.g. AS 4000 / AS 2124 AS 4300 or Council/authority contracts), including the role of the Superintendent.

Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and construction programs.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-focused environment.

Effective communication and leadership skills and a professional approach.

A proactive attitude and commitment to continuous learning.

About us

Arcos is a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy delivering civil, geotechnical, and structural solutions across private, corporate, and government sectors. Operating across local and interstate markets, we're known for our practical, high-quality approach and our commitment to achieving client outcomes.
