We are a long-established, family-owned wholesale jewellery business supplying retailers across Australia for over 40 years.

We are looking for an experienced jewellery industry professional to take ownership of our Product & Buying function.

This is a hands-on role within a small, established team, working closely with the Director. You will be responsible for the ongoing management and development of our product range, as well as buying and supplier management, while working with the Director on range direction, key decisions and overall product strategy.

This role would suit someone who already knows the jewellery industry, understands the Australian market and is confident working independently. You will need strong product knowledge, commercial judgement and the ability to work directly with international suppliers.

The role

Your responsibilities will include

- Sourcing products and developing ranges suited to our retail customer base
- Requesting pricing, reviewing and selecting samples, and placing purchase orders
- Working closely with the Director on range direction and final product selections
- Managing international suppliers, including negotiating pricing and resolving product or quality issues
- Overseeing purchase orders, production timelines and deliveries
- Setting pricing and margins in line with business expectations
- Reviewing sales and range performance to identify top sellers, slow-moving products, gaps and opportunities
- Monitoring stock levels,



replenishment and special orders
- Keeping up to date with jewellery market trends and what our retail customers are responding to
- Conducting quality and weight checks on imported stock when required
- Communicating product quality reminders to suppliers prior to shipment
- Collaborating with Marketing on product launches and promotions

About you

We are looking for someone who brings genuine jewellery industry experience and can step into the role with a strong understanding of fine jewellery and the Australian market.

You will ideally have

- Previous experience in jewellery product development or buying within wholesale or retail
- Strong technical knowledge of diamonds, gemstones and precious metals
- Experience buying fine jewellery and a strong understanding of jewellery products
- Knowledge of the Australian jewellery market and what resonates with retailers
- Established experience working directly with international suppliers and managing imports
- Strong supplier management and negotiation skills
- A solid understanding of margins, pricing and stock management
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and strong overall tech capability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong commercial judgement and exceptional attention to detail
- Professional maturity, integrity, reliability and a high level of trustworthiness

You are independent, proactive and decisive, with the experience and confidence to manage your responsibilities while working closely with the Director on key decisions.

This role is suited to an experienced jewellery professional with a strong understanding of fine jewellery and buying. This is not a role where you will be learning the jewellery industry from scratch.
