Scale Smart Marketing

Sydney

Create ads, experiment with AI, and learn what makes people click. A hands-on creative role inside a performance marketing team running campaigns across Australia, North America & Europe.

Most junior marketing jobs have you scheduling posts, updating calendars and writing captions. One task. One channel. The same routine until you start wondering if this is really what marketing is about.

This role is a little different.

A LITTLE ABOUT US

We're Scale Smart Marketing, a performance lead generation company running advertising campaigns across Australia and the United States. We spend millions on digital advertising every year, constantly testing new ideas, different messages and creative approaches to find what actually works.

Behind those campaigns is a marketing team that creates. Ads, videos, images, scripts, hooks, all of it, every day. AI is a huge part of how we work, and we're looking for someone with a creative mind to join the team, learn how it all comes together and help us push things further.

THE ROLE

This is a hands-on, creative role built to support our marketing team. You'll get real exposure to how performance advertising works: developing concepts, writing hooks and copy, creating images and videos with AI, researching audiences and helping turn ideas into live campaigns.

It's creative thinking backed by real results. You might spend the morning brainstorming ten different ways to sell the same product, then the afternoon generating AI videos or figuring out why one ad is outperforming another. No two days look the same.

You'll start by supporting creative production while you learn how we operate. As your skills develop, you'll have more opportunities to contribute your own ideas and take ownership of projects. The goal is simple: become someone who doesn't just make ads, but understands what makes them work.

THIS COULD BE YOUR MOVE IF

We care less about a perfect CV than finding someone with the right creative instincts and attitude. See if you recognise yourself here.

- You're studying marketing or have recently graduated. You've learned the theory, but now you want to get your hands dirty. Real campaigns, real budgets, real results. You want to learn how advertising actually works, not just how it's supposed to work in a textbook.
- You've got a creative eye and want to put it to work. You notice good design, clever headlines and videos that grab attention. You have opinions about what looks good and what doesn't.

Now you want to turn that instinct into a skill that actually delivers results.
- You're fascinated by AI and where it's heading. You've been experimenting with ChatGPT, image generators or AI video tools. You can see how quickly things are changing, and you want to be right in the middle of it. Not just playing with the tools, but learning how to make something genuinely good with them.
- You're a content creator who wants to understand advertising. You can make things look good, but you're curious about the bigger picture. Why does one video get ignored while another generates thousands of clicks? You want to understand the thinking behind the creative, not just how to produce it.
- You're naturally curious about people. You understand that what grabs a 25-year-old's attention might mean absolutely nothing to someone twice their age. You enjoy figuring out what makes different people tick, what they care about and how to get their attention.
- You're in a junior marketing role and ready for something more. You're tired of being handed the same repetitive tasks. You want to contribute ideas, experiment with new technology and work with a team that actually puts creative thinking to the test.

If two or three of those sounded like you, keep reading.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

- A creative eye. A natural feel for good design, solid visuals and messaging that grabs attention. You can spot the difference between average creative and something worth stopping for.
- The right qualification. A degree in marketing, advertising, communications, design or a related field is preferred, but not essential. We're more interested in finding the right person with the right attitude, creative instincts and willingness to learn.
- Words that work. Good written communication and an ability to turn complicated ideas into simple, compelling messages.
- AI curiosity. Experience with tools like ChatGPT, image generators or AI video platforms is a bonus.

A genuine hunger to learn them is essential.

- An audience-first mindset. You understand that different people need different messages.

You're interested in the psychology behind advertising, not just how it looks.
- A thick enough skin. You can take feedback, challenge your own thinking and accept that your favourite idea might not be the one that works. Ego doesn't make great advertising.
- Self-driven. Organised, proactive and comfortable figuring things out.

You ask questions, take initiative and don't need someone holding your hand through every task.

WHY THIS ROLE

This role is built to develop your skills. You'll start by supporting the team with creative production, learning the tools, understanding our campaigns and seeing how ideas translate into results. As you build confidence and experience, you'll take on more creative responsibility and contribute to the direction of our advertising.

You'll be working with an experienced performance marketing team, substantial advertising budgets and some of the latest AI creative technology. The opportunity is to develop something increasingly valuable: the ability to combine creative thinking, AI and an understanding of what makes advertising perform.

THIS IS NOT THE ROLE FOR YOU IF

- You think marketing is just social media. We're not looking for someone to manage Instagram pages or chase followers. This is about creating advertising that drives results.
- You expect AI to do all the thinking. Anyone can type a prompt into ChatGPT. Knowing what to create, who it's for and whether it's any good is where you come in.
- You're precious about your ideas. We test everything. Some ideas win, plenty don't. We learn, adjust and move on.
- You need constant direction. We'll teach you, support you and give you feedback. But we value people who take initiative and figure things out.
- Good enough is your standard. We care about the details. A better headline, a stronger hook or a small creative change can make a huge difference.

HOW TO APPLY

Send your resume and a short note telling us which of the backgrounds above sounds like you, and why this role interests you. Examples of creative work, personal projects or university assignments are all welcome. Bonus points for a 60 to 90 second Loom introducing yourself, because we'd rather hear how you think than read another generic cover letter.

We're looking for someone with potential, not a perfect CV. If that sounds like you, get in touch.

We'll be interviewing strong candidates as they come in, so if this sounds like you, don't wait to apply.
