We are looking for a motivated and analytical Junior Securities Finance Trader to join our Sydney-based Securities Finance team. This is an excellent prospect for someone with a strong interest in financial markets, trading, data analytics and technology who is looking to build a long-term career in Securities Finance.

Responsibilities

As a Junior Securities Finance Trader, you will support the day-to-day management of securities lending and financing activities across the Australian market. Working closely with experienced traders and key stakeholders across Trading, Operations, Risk, Compliance and Technology, you will gain broad exposure to financial markets while developing your commercial, analytical and technical skills.

Key responsibilities include

- Supporting securities borrowing and lending activities
- Assisting with trade execution, inventory and collateral management
- Performing market analysis and identifying trading opportunities




- Monitoring and escalating risks and operational issues
- Supporting client enquiries and stakeholder relationships
- Contributing to process improvement, automation and reporting initiatives

Qualifications

- A degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related analytical discipline

Required Skills

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Python programming experience through work, study or personal projects
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
- A genuine interest in financial markets and technology

Preferred Skills

- Exposure to securities lending, collateral management, trading support, market operations, SQL, data analytics or automation tools will be highly regarded but is not essential.
