AusJobz is seeking an experienced Lead Project Planner on behalf of our client, a major resources organisation, to lead the planning function for a significant capital project based in Perth. This is an opportunity to shape project delivery from feasibility through to commissioning and handover, supporting secure, predictable and efficient outcomes.

About the role

As an embedded member of the owner’s project team, you will take ownership of the Integrated Project Master Schedule, translating project scope and execution requirements into a credible, achievable delivery plan.

Working closely with the Principal Project Controls, Project Manager and Project Director, you will integrate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and operational readiness activities. Your schedule analysis and forecasts will help the team identify risks early, protect key milestones and make informed decisions.

Key responsibilities

- Develop, integrate and maintain the Project Master Schedule across all project phases.
- Establish schedule logic, milestones, work breakdown structures and progress measurement methods.
- Integrate owner, EPCM and contractor schedules to ensure alignment across delivery activities.
- Lead planning workshops and schedule reviews with project teams and delivery partners.
- Monitor progress, assess forecast outcomes and identify emerging schedule risks.
- Develop practical mitigation strategies and recovery plans to address schedule slippage.
- Provide independent,



evidence-based analysis and constructively challenge unsupported assumptions, forecasts and progress claims.
- Lead the development of commissioning, start-up and handover schedules.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and direction to project and contractor planning personnel.
- Apply benchmarking and lessons learned to improve planning quality and delivery outcomes.

About you

You will bring

- Significant experience leading planning and scheduling on major capital projects.
- Advanced Primavera P6 capability and proficiency in Microsoft Project.
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing integrated project master schedules.
- Experience within an owner’s team, EPCM or major project delivery environment.
- Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
- Proven capability in contractor schedule integration, forecasting and recovery planning.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to critically assess schedules and provide constructive feedback.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent practical experience.
- A strong commitment to safety and collaborative project delivery.

Experience in mining, iron ore or large resources projects will be highly regarded. Ready to lead planning on a major resources project?
