LEADING HAND – LUXURY JOINERY & COMMERCIAL FITOUTS

Sydney, NSW | Full-time | AusPacific Prestige Alliance (APPA)

Salary: $110,000–$125,000 Superannuation Vehicle or Vehicle Allowance

We are looking to appoint someone as soon as possible. Candidates who are available to commence immediately or within a short notice period will be highly regarded.

ABOUT APPA

AusPacific Prestige Alliance (APPA) is an integrated project delivery group bringing together specialist capabilities across commercial construction, international project delivery, luxury residential, procurement and manufacturing.

Through our specialist businesses, we work across premium retail, hospitality, workplace and other high-end commercial environments, connecting design, construction, procurement and manufacturing around the requirements of each project.

As our project portfolio continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Leading Hand to take a hands-on leadership role across our Sydney projects, with a strong focus on luxury joinery, premium commercial fitouts and high-quality project delivery.

THE ROLE

This is a hands-on site leadership role for an experienced tradesperson who understands the level of workmanship, precision and coordination required to deliver luxury joinery and premium commercial interiors.

Working closely with Project Managers and the Site Management team, you will coordinate day-to-day site activities, lead trades and oversee the installation of architectural joinery and commercial fitout elements.

You will act as a key point of coordination between site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and project management, ensuring works are completed safely, accurately, to programme and in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.

The role requires someone who can operate autonomously, take ownership of site responsibilities, identify issues early and maintain exceptional standards of workmanship throughout project delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead and coordinate joiners, carpenters and other site trades.
- Supervise the installation of high-end architectural and commercial joinery.
- Read and interpret architectural, shop and construction drawings.
- Coordinate joinery installation with other trades and building services.
- Set out works and verify dimensions, levels, tolerances and installation requirements.
- Ensure joinery is installed accurately and in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate deliveries, materials, equipment and site logistics.
- Liaise with Project Managers, Site Managers, subcontractors, suppliers and clients.
- Monitor daily site progress and support project programme requirements.
- Identify and resolve construction, installation and coordination issues on site.
- Maintain exceptional standards of workmanship,

presentation and quality control.
- Conduct inspections and identify defects before practical completion and handover.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with WHS requirements and safe working practices.
- Maintain clean, organised and professional site environments.
- Assist with project handovers, defect rectification and close-out requirements.
- Provide practical input into construction sequencing, installation methodology and site coordination.
- Support effective communication between site teams and project management to ensure outstanding actions are resolved promptly.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who has already worked on premium joinery and commercial interior projects and understands that luxury construction requires precision, exceptional finishing standards and attention to detail.

You will ideally bring

- 5 years' experience in commercial joinery, shopfitting, carpentry or commercial fitout.
- Previous experience as a Leading Hand, Working Foreman, Senior Joiner or Site Supervisor.
- Strong experience in architectural and commercial joinery installation.
- Experience delivering high-end retail, hospitality, hotel, residential or commercial interior projects.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed architectural, construction and joinery drawings.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site coordination and installation methodology.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to premium finishing standards.
- Ability to lead trades and coordinate subcontractors effectively.
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence working independently and taking ownership of day-to-day site responsibilities.
- Ability to identify issues early and implement practical solutions.
- Strong commitment to WHS and maintaining a safe, professional working environment.

Highly regarded: Experience with luxury retail environments, bespoke architectural joinery, specialist finishes including stone, metal and glass, imported joinery, offshore manufacturing, coordination with architects and interior designers, and projects requiring tight programmes or after-hours installations.

QUALIFICATIONS A relevant trade qualification in Carpentry, Joinery, Shopfitting or a related discipline is highly regarded.

Substantial relevant industry experience, particularly in premium joinery installation and commercial fitout delivery, will also be considered.

WHY APPA

This is an opportunity to join a growing project delivery group working across premium commercial environments, with exposure to luxury retail, hospitality, bespoke joinery and architecturally significant interior projects.

Unlike a traditional site-based role focused on a single part of the construction process, you will work across APPA's broader capabilities in construction, procurement and manufacturing, collaborating closely with project management teams and specialist trades.

The role offers significant autonomy, exposure to both Australian and international project delivery capabilities, and opportunities for long-term career progression.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Site activities are well coordinated, installation works are delivered accurately and efficiently, and every completed project reflects the level of craftsmanship expected in premium commercial environments.

Joinery installations meet approved drawings, dimensions, tolerances and finishing requirements, while site teams, subcontractors and project management remain aligned on programme, quality, safety and outstanding actions.

SALARY & BENEFITS

- $110,000–$125,000 superannuation, depending on experience.
- Vehicle or vehicle allowance.
- Permanent full-time employment.
- Exposure to premium retail, hospitality, commercial and interior projects.
- Supportive and collaborative project management team.
- Opportunities for career progression into Site Supervisor, Foreman or Construction Management positions.
- Long-term prospect within a growing Sydney-based project delivery group.

IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING

This is a full-time, Sydney-based role involving regular attendance at project sites across Sydney and coordination with our Chester Hill office.

Before applying, please check the location of our office and ensure that travel to Chester Hill and project sites across Sydney is suitable for you.

We are only considering candidates who are currently based in Sydney and are Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents with unrestricted working rights.

We are not considering interstate or overseas applicants, relocation candidates, or applicants requiring current or future visa sponsorship.

Experience in high-end joinery installation and premium commercial fitouts is essential for this position.

HOW TO APPLY

If you are an experienced Leading Hand who takes pride in exceptional workmanship, understands the precision required in luxury joinery and is confident leading trades on premium commercial projects, we would like to hear from you.

Please apply with your CV outlining your relevant experience in luxury joinery, shopfitting and commercial fitout delivery.
