Role Purpose An organisation is seeking a Lead Technical Systems Analyst to work across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Security and Operations, translating customer journeys and business capabilities into scalable, secure and production-ready solutions.

This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who can understand complex systems end to end, bring clarity to cross-platform change and influence technical outcomes across delivery and operational teams. You will also support technology leadership with technical governance, delivery assurance and operational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Analysis and Technical Design

- Translate customer journeys, business requirements and product features into clear technical designs, specifications and implementation approaches.
- Analyse impacts across applications, APIs, integrations, databases and third-party platforms.
- Identify dependencies, constraints, assumptions, risks and non-functional requirements early in the delivery lifecycle.
- Create and maintain system context diagrams, sequence diagrams, process flows, data models, integration designs, API contracts and service dependency maps.
- Partner with architecture and engineering teams to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable and aligned with technology standards.

Delivery Enablement and Governance

- Support feature decomposition into implementation-ready engineering stories, tasks and technical acceptance criteria.
- Maintain traceability from business capabilities and customer journeys through to technical implementation and operational support.
- Contribute to release planning, change impact assessments, production readiness and delivery assurance.
- Provide clear technical recommendations, challenge ambiguity constructively and help teams make informed decisions.




- Support technology leadership by coordinating priorities and representing the function in relevant governance and delivery forums.

Operational Resilience and Continuous Improvement

- Act as a senior technical adviser during complex incidents, major changes and production events.
- Provide dependency analysis, impact assessments and root-cause investigation support.
- Identify technical debt and contribute to practical remediation and prioritisation plans.
- Embed security, reliability, observability, performance and supportability into solution design.
- Drive improvements that reduce production defects, delivery rework and operational risk.

Required Experience

Essential

- Significant experience as a Technical Systems Analyst, Senior Systems Analyst, Solution Analyst or in a similar role within a complex digital environment.
- Strong understanding of APIs, integration patterns, distributed applications, data flows and system dependencies.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality technical specifications, models, diagrams and acceptance criteria.
- Experience working with Agile product and engineering teams from discovery through to production support.
- Sound understanding of non-functional requirements, including security, reliability, performance, observability and operational readiness.
- Experience supporting production services, complex incidents, change assessments and release activities.
- Excellent analytical, facilitation, stakeholder management and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead through influence, mentor others and make sound decisions in a fast-moving setting.

Highly Regarded

- Experience with customer-facing web or mobile products and enterprise integration platforms.
- Exposure to cloud services, API management, event-driven integration, DevOps, SRE or platform engineering practices.
- Experience within a regulated industry.
- Understanding of secure software delivery, technical governance and service management principles.
