Charles Darwin University TAFE are seeking skilled Electricians ready for their next career move and to pass their knowledge onto the next generation to help shape and guide them.
We have a permanent opportunity based at our Casuarina Campus, Northern Territory, where you will bring your electrical experience into the classroom and workshop, helping students build the technical knowledge and practical skills needed in their trade.
You’ll be supported as you transition into teaching, working alongside a highly experienced team who will provide complete training to the successful applicant.
You will work under the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and Vocational Education and Training (VET) Quality Framework and to the competency standards of the Electrotechnology Training Package.
About You To be successful, you will require:
- Possess a Trade Qualification in Electrical and/or Refrigeration & Airconditioning, and relevant post trade experience in the Electrotechnology industry
- Possess current qualification equivalent to a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or the ability to obtain this qualification in a set time frame. (TAE course fees will be reimbursed to the successful applicant up successful completion of the qualification, if not already obtained)
- Unrestricted Electrical Workers License
- Demonstrated experience providing training either within a workplace setting or educational institution.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate in a culturally sensitive manner with internal and external stakeholders to whom English may not be the first language.
- Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team.
- Understand and exercise the principles of Workplace Health and Safety requirements, as well as Equal Opportunity policies and procedures
- Demonstrated competency with the Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software packages.

Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory National Criminal History check and a valid NT Working with Children clearance
Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at HE Academic Level A. The base salary will be in the range of $79,132 - $118,716 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $92,584 - $138,897 per annum, inclusive of 17% superannuation.
