We are recruiting an experienced Maintenance Fitter for a large recycling / materials recovery site on the Gold Coast (Carrara area).

The role

- Temp to permanent for the right candidate
- Start on dayshift for a short training period, then move to ongoing afternoon shift
- Permanent rate $48 per hour plus applicable shift loadings
- Casual afternoon shift rate approximately $69 per hour (includes casual loading and afternoon shift loading)
- Long-term ongoing opportunity

About the work You will be maintaining plant and equipment in a busy recycling workplace. Duties include:

- Preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
- Mechanical fault finding on conveyors, balers, sorting equipment and rotating plant
- Shutdown work and planned maintenance
- Basic welding and boilermaking tasks
- Hydraulics, pneumatics and general mechanical fitting




- Working safely to site WHS and lockout/tagout procedures

About you

- Qualified or experienced Maintenance / Mechanical Fitter
- Strong hands-on experience in manufacturing, recycling, waste or heavy industrial plant
- Comfortable with breakdowns, preventative maintenance and shutdown work
- Basic welding skills highly regarded
- Reliable, safety-focused and able to work unsupervised
- Full working rights and available for ongoing afternoon shift after training
