You will support and develop your team, guide service delivery and lead quality improvement, immunisation oversight and service improvements.

About You

You are an experienced Maternal and Child Health practitioner and supportive people leader, bringing sound clinical judgement, strong coordination and a genuine commitment to quality care. You build trusted relationships, lead with confidence and empathy, and create a positive, inclusive environment where people and families feel supported.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife.
- An accredited postgraduate qualification in maternal and child health nursing, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Substantial recent experience as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse, including demonstrated experience leading or supervising staff.
- Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary MCH practice, clinical governance, child safety, family violence and the relevant legislative and policy environment.
- Strong operational coordination, workforce planning, rostering and workload management skills.
- Highly developed communication, relationship management, judgement and problem-solving skills.
- A current Victorian driver's licence, Working with Children Check and National Police Check, plus immunisation qualification or authorisation where required.

About the Role

You will

- Provide clinical leadership, guidance, reflective practice and mentoring to the MCH team.
- Coordinate Universal and Enhanced MCH operations, appointment allocation, waitlists, rosters, leave and service backfill.
- Support clinical governance, quality improvement, clinical audits, case reviews and service change implementation.

- Oversee safe and compliant immunisation service delivery in line with legislation and guidelines.
- Support child safety, family violence identification, risk management, CISS and MARAM requirements.
- Maintain a regular MCH nursing caseload alongside leadership responsibilities.
- Build effective relationships with Council teams, the Department of Health, health services and community organisations.

Why Join Southern Grampians Shire Council? Make a meaningful difference to children, families and the community while leading a passionate and supportive MCH team.
