Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Mechanic role based in Melbourne, VIC at Jim's Car Detailing Scoresby. The Mechanic will carry out routine vehicle inspections, diagnose issues, and perform mechanical repairs to ensure vehicles are safe, reliable, and ready for detailing and customer delivery. Day-to-day tasks include conducting scheduled servicing, checking fluids, brakes, and tyres, completing basic mechanical and electrical checks, and coordinating repair needs with the detailing team.

The role also involves maintaining accurate service records, keeping the workshop clean and organized, and communicating clearly with colleagues and customers about vehicle status and recommended work.



The Mechanic is expected to follow safety guidelines and contribute to a culture of quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in general Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles.
- Experience with Preventive Maintenance practices, including scheduled servicing, inspections, and safety checks.
- Ability to work with Heavy Equipment where applicable (e.g., lifts, jacks, power tools) in a secure and compliant manner.
- Proficient Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing mechanical and basic electrical issues efficiently.
- Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship completion in automotive mechanics or a closely related field.
- Understanding of automotive safety standards and workshop best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with solid time-management and organizational skills.
- Clear communication skills and a customer-focused approach; prior experience in a service or workshop environment is an advantage.
