About the Role

We are seeking a Mechatronics Engineer specialising in Mobile Refuse Equipment Integration to join our Melbourne team. In this role, you will focus on improving and optimising existing municipal equipment, enhancing performance, reliability, and functionality. You will identify opportunities to implement new technologies and integrate control systems that deliver measurable value to customers.

You will also contribute to mechanical component design and support engineering activities across Bulkwaste and Vacuum product lines. The role includes providing technical support to Sales, Operations and Customer Service teams, as well as developing practical customer-focused solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop mechanical and integrated systems for mobile refuse equipment
- Adapt existing designs to leverage EV platform capabilities
- Collaborate with vehicle OEMs and suppliers on current equipment solutions




- Create 3D CAD models and design documentation using SolidWorks/AutoCAD
- Support engineering projects through manufacturing and assembly
- Conduct research and analysis to improve efficiency, safety, and functionality
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and continuous product improvement
- Provide technical support to sales, operations, and customer teams

About You

- Degree in Mechatronic Engineering or similar engineering discipline
- Strong experience in mechanical design and system integration
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Experience in automotive, heavy vehicles, agricultural or industrial equipment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, manufacturing and suppliers
- Experience with FEA tools such as ANSYS
- Exposure to EV, electrification or advanced vehicle systems
