Entry level chance
Match & Wood is a fast-growing, technology-fuelled independent media agency and we are looking for a Media Coordinator to join our Melbourne team. The role is an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of media planning & buying, and gain a strong foothold in the industry. It would be best suited to a recent university graduate (entry level), or someone who has worked in the industry for less than 2 years.
At a time when you can take your pick of roles and agencies, it's more important than ever to make the right choice. Match & Wood was crowned Mumbrella’s Media Agency of the Year, proving that a progressive independent agency can have a huge impact in the industry. We work with a suite of fabulous clients from government and blue chips, through to tech and challenger brands, providing no end of opportunities to learn and do great work.
Why this role might excite you The pace of change in media has never been faster. Legacy systems are being upended, new technologies are emerging daily, and the rulebook is being rewritten in real time. At Match & Wood we’re not just keeping up, we’re helping lead that transformation.
For our team that means constant opportunity; whether it’s shaping smarter strategies for clients, or rethinking how media works all together, you’ll have the chance to make a meaningful impact across the business. You’ll be challenged, inspired, and supported by some of the most experienced minds in the industry, who know how to create prospect and are deeply committed to supporting the next generation of media leaders.
What you will be doing
You will be supporting the team across all elements of media planning, buying, reporting and account management. You will have the chance to learn from your direct manager and other senior personnel in the agency, connect with media owners,
and engage with the wider industry at key events.
Responsibilities
- Media buying & campaign management – At this level you will be exposed to all digital & traditional channels, in order to gain a holistic understanding of the communications landscape and how channels work together
- Develop and maintain relationships with the media in order to access & deliver the best outcomes for our clients
- Receive client briefs, interrogate them, and summarise the key elements
- Campaign tracking & optimisation to ensure we continuously improve results
- Manage large amounts of advertising data and identify key insights in order to help our clients target their customers more efficiently
- Actively contribute to idea generation, and collaborate with key stakeholders to identify ways to deliver brilliant outcomes for our clients
- Prepare regular performance reports that clearly communicate results and recommendations
- Preparation & presentation of implementation documents
- Apply rigorous attention to detail in all areas of your work
- Embrace AI tools in your day-to-day tasks. Note: we use AI to accelerate our work, not to replace judgement, and we require personnel to always check outputs and apply their own critical thinking.
- Commit to the team - We have a borderless, cross-country approach that requires excellent collaboration skills and a desire to help the team succeed
This may be an entry level role but you will be working on premium clients with endless opportunities to learn and grow. Importantly, as soon as you’re ready for more responsibility, it's yours. We have a strong focus on training, providing opportunities, and fostering the next generation of media talent, and a track record of doing just that. Have more experience and still want to have a chat? Feel free to reach out, we love meeting new people and you never know where it might lead.
