Disability Support Worker – ASD Experience & Singing Skills

Grace Quality Care is seeking a patient, reliable and experienced support worker to support an adult with autism in the family home and community.

We are looking for someone with a calm, mature approach who enjoys singing and can use music to build rapport, encourage engagement and make everyday activities enjoyable.

About the role

- Provide respectful support with daily routines, personal care and toileting.
- Encourage independence through meaningful activities and life skills.
- Support secure community participation.
- Use simple communication, visual prompts and predictable routines.
- Follow the participant’s Behaviour Support Plan and attend relevant training.
- Work closely with the family and care team, and complete clear progress notes.

What we are looking for

- Experience supporting people with autism, intellectual disability and behaviours of concern.
- Confidence with positive behaviour support and calm de-escalation.




- Enjoyment of singing and confidence incorporating music into support activities.
- Patience, emotional maturity and a consistent, dependable approach.
- Understanding of Sri Lankan culture; Sinhala language skills would be highly regarded.
- Willingness to provide personal care and continence support while maintaining dignity and privacy.

Requirements

- Current NDIS Worker Screening clearance.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- Relevant disability support qualification or demonstrated experience.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
- Australian work rights.

Hours: To be discussed with suitable applicants.
