About the role
You will be the Microsoft expert behind Managed 365, reporting to our Network & Security Manager. You will deliver, support and improve every part of the catalogue, take SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive governance through to the end, and make sure every client under a Managed 365 contract has the security controls in place to deliver outcomes such as the ACSC Essential Eight and NIST CSF 2.0. You will assess each client's Microsoft tenant, recommend how to improve its maturity, scope the work with evidence, and lead the deployment once the client approves.
You will work alongside our Client Principal to help clients move up the Managed 365 tiers, and spend scheduled days on site at key Perth clients.
Key responsibilities
- Own SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive: site design, permissions, ownership, sharing, lifecycle, discovery and migrations
- Deliver Microsoft 365 migrations and implementations: tenant and mailbox moves, file-share moves, Intune and Windows Autopilot rollouts
- Enforce security baselines on every Managed 365 client using Inforcer, Intune, Datto RMM, Microsoft 365 Lighthouse and Defender for Business, and evidence the outcomes for the Essential Eight and NIST CSF 2.0
- Onboard each client to our managed detection and response service, and act on its hardening findings
- Run Microsoft 365 tenant maturity assessments against the tier each client has selected, and recommend improvements to our Client Principal and vCIO
- Build clear, evidence-based project scopes, then lead the deployment once the client approves
- Help our Client Principal grow Managed 365 with the technical case for upgrades and new implementations
- Apply Microsoft Purview data protection (data loss prevention, sensitivity labels, retention and audit), and set up, check and restore Microsoft 365 backup
- Get clients ready for Microsoft 365 Copilot, from oversharing clean-up to user training
- Work through hard Microsoft questions with the service desk and project team, teach them as you go,
and write the runbooks with a trained backup for each service
- Attend scheduled on-site days at key clients, and own your tickets from start to finish
- Help us earn Microsoft advanced specialisations in Modern Work, such as Modernize Endpoints, Calling for Microsoft Teams, and Meetings and Meeting Rooms for Microsoft Teams
About you
- At least 4 years delivering Microsoft 365 and Contemporary Workplace projects, ideally in an MSP
- SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive (the core of the role): site architecture, permissions and inheritance, sharing and governance, lifecycle and ownership, and migrations at scale
- Identity and email: Entra ID, Conditional Access and multi-factor authentication; Exchange Online mail authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
- Endpoint: Intune enrolment, compliance, configuration and applications; Windows Autopilot and standard operating environment builds; BitLocker
- Security and data protection: Defender for Business and Defender for Office 365; Microsoft Purview
- Multi-tenant policy management (Inforcer or similar), and mapping controls to the Essential Eight, NIST CSF 2.0 and CIS
- Operations: an RMM such as Datto RMM, Microsoft 365 Lighthouse, and PowerShell (Power Automate a plus)
- Consulting: tenant maturity assessments, evidence-based recommendations and accurate project scopes
- Current Microsoft certifications (for example MD-102, MS-102, SC-300 or MS-700), and a commitment to earn those that count towards Microsoft specialisations
- A valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle (client sites; km reimbursement applies), right to work in Australia, and willingness to undergo police and reference checks
What success looks like
- Within 90 days: every contracted client onboarded to our baseline platform, and a SharePoint governance standard published
- Within 6 months: your first round of tenant maturity assessments complete
- Within 180 days: a tested runbook and a trained backup for every service in the catalogue
Benefits
- A$115,000 to A$125,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience
- Expert in-house AI and automation skills on hand to help you succeed
- Microsoft certification and professional development support
- A clear path to Microsoft Solution Architect, or to leading our Modern Work practice
How we hire A short screening call; a hands-on technical assessment with one of our senior Microsoft engineers (SharePoint governance, a migration plan, Intune, Defender, Purview, a tenant maturity review with a scope, security control enforcement and a short runbook); a leadership interview; and reference checks.
