Responsibilities Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and construction specifications to determine steel fabrication and installation requirements. Selecting, measuring, cutting, and preparing steel reinforcement bars (rebar), mesh, and structural steel components using hand tools, power tools, rebar cutters, benders, grinders, and metal cutting machinery. Shaping and bending steel sections and reinforcement to precise dimensions using manual tools, bending machines, and heating techniques.

Accurately setting out, positioning, and securing steel reinforcement in slabs, columns, beams, and footings in accordance with plans and engineering specifications. Using welding, bolting, riveting,



and tying techniques to join and secure metal components. Working with formwork and concreting teams to coordinate reinforcement installation prior to concrete pours.

Inspecting and verifying steelwork to ensure compliance with quality standards, tolerances, and safety regulations. Cleaning, grinding, and preparing fabricated components for finishing and installation. Adhering strictly to workplace safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE and safe handling of equipment and materials.
