Sydney

Two roles are open:

- Sponsorship Visas: a role dedicated entirely to employer sponsorship and related visa work.
- Legal Matters: a role focused on litigation, family law and court and tribunal matters.

The Migration Paralegal/Lawyer independently runs Australian migration matters end-to-end, from the first client enquiry through to citizenship and, where required, litigation in the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCOA). The role covers both client and company visa processes, including protection-related submissions.
1. Court Litigation (FCFCOA, Federal Court, High Court, but not limited to:)

- Carry client matters independently from consultation through to court.
- Draft judicial review applications, grounds, affidavits and written submissions for the court matters.
- Prepare court bundles, comply with court directions and manage filing deadlines.
- Draft written submissions for ART merits review, and take notes in ART hearings.
- Conduct legal research to support submissions and advice.
- File Freedom of Information (FOI) and Government Information (Public Access) (GIPA) requests.

2. Family Law

- Prepare family law applications, affidavits, financial statements and consent orders for the FCFCOA.
- Draft submissions and correspondence in parenting and property matters.
- Manage the interaction between family law and migration outcomes, including partner visa matters.

3. Migration:



Sponsorship and Visa Matters

- Independently manage and complete employer sponsorship matters, including standard business sponsorship, nominations and visa applications (subclasses 482, 494, 407 and 186, among others).
- Manage both company and client visa processes, from initial enquiry through to citizenship.
- Manage VEVO checks and monitor visa conditions and expiry dates.

4. Drafting and Evidence

- Draft legal submissions, statements and statutory declarations.
- Conduct immigration witness statement interviews independently.
- Independently compile visa documents from international agencies.
- Arrange and manage medical, interview and excess documentation requests.

Client

Management

- Act as the first point of contact for clients.
- Conduct client interviews independently.
- Prepare and send cost agreements.
- Manage matters in Clio.

6.

Administration and Billing

- Maintain accurate matter files and file notes.
- Record time and bill in Clio.
