We’re a small home based mobile allied health service, looking to offer the right candidate supervision, one to one support/mentoring and opportunities for PD tailored to your needs and interests.
This position is suitable for a Speech Pathologist who is looking for flexibility and work-life balance.
Sub -Contract/Temp
$95 – $115 per hour
About OptimalYou Allied Health Services:
OptimalYou is an operating business, a provider of allied health services to the South Eastern and Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We provide Allied health services to clients with a broad range of conditions and support needs, including but not limited to mental and physical health conditions. Our aim is to optimise holistic health and wellbeing for our clients. Services are provided on a mobile basis, on site with clients, clinic appointments or via telehealth.

How the role works from a day to day perspective
As a contractor you will be able to work flexibly and determine your work hours and days. You can fit your OptimalYou work around other commitments you have, including another job, study or childcare responsibilities.
Tell us the hours you want to work and we’re able to collaborate with you, including both direct and indirect time. We’re able to support you with booking appointments,
scheduling and invoicing to provide more opportunity to focus on your clinical work.
As we’re a small company we pride ourselves in support. There will be constant communication, collaboration and support to ensure you are properly inducted to the role (operationally and clinically).
Scope of Practice
- Population: Adolescents and Adults (16-65) with NDIS plans or working towards NDIS access.
- Service Delivery Model: Individual and flexible work, team training. A combination of face to face and Telehealth service provision will be required.
- Service Location: OptimalYou Allied Health Services primarily services the south eastern and eastern region suburbs of Victoria. We are a mobile service and offer an office however encourage working from home.
1. Your role: To provide a comprehensive range of speech pathology services to clients, including assessment and individualised, evidence-based interventions for communication and, where appropriate to your scope of practice, swallowing needs. You will support functional communication, participation and capacity building, and write client reports detailing assessment findings, intervention progress, clinical reasoning and recommendations. You will work collaboratively with clients and their support teams to increase independence and support long-term wellbeing.

Your Skills
· Experience in disability, communication and swallowing needs, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and capacity-building speech pathology interventions
- Open minded and willingness to learn new skills.
- Works well with a team
- A passion and understanding of person-centred, evidence-based practice
- A commitment to personal and professional quality improvement
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Understanding or experience working within the NDIS
- An ability to work effectively within a remote team

What you need:
- Australian Citizenship
· Recognised qualification in speech pathology · Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia
- Australian working right
- Insurances (Professional Indemnity, Vehicle etc)
- Current Driver’s Licence with use of own vehicle
- Experience is highly regarded but not necessary
