Based in Brisbane CBD, this is an opportunity to influence monitoring and observability capability across a large and complex enterprise environment.
Your new roleThis senior specialist role combines strategy, architecture and practical delivery. You will assess current monitoring, observability, logging and event management capabilities before helping define and deliver the future-state strategy and roadmap.Working across infrastructure, cloud, cyber security, architecture and service management teams, you will help improve operational visibility, service resilience and incident response while supporting the organisation’s progression towards more proactive operations and AIOps capabilities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assessing enterprise monitoring, observability, logging and event management capabilities
- Developing future-state monitoring and observability strategies and roadmaps
- Identifying monitoring blind spots, visibility gaps and improvement opportunities
- Defining governance frameworks, standards and operating models
- Reviewing and evaluating monitoring and observability technologies
- Designing dashboards, reporting and service health visibility solutions
- Improving alert quality, event correlation and signal management
- Supporting monitoring platform integration and AIOps capabilities
- Developing implementation roadmaps and investment recommendations
- Improving logging standards, retention models and governance
- Engaging technical and business stakeholders across the organisation
What you'll need to succeedYou will bring strong enterprise monitoring and observability experience, with the ability to work across both strategic planning and technical delivery.Ideally, you will have:
- 7+ years' experience across enterprise monitoring, observability, logging or infrastructure operations
- Experience developing monitoring, observability or operational visibility strategies
- Strong experience designing and implementing enterprise monitoring and logging solutions
- Experience undertaking current-state assessments and developing future-state roadmaps
- Knowledge across application, infrastructure, cloud and network monitoring
- Experience with dashboards, alert tuning, event correlation and service health visualisation
- Understanding of AIOps, event intelligence and operational analytics
- Experience with technology evaluation, platform integration and automation
- Strong stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and documentation skills
- A relevant qualification or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Experience with technologies such as Splunk, Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Datadog, New Relic, Elastic, Grafana, Prometheus, ThousandEyes or BMC Helix will be highly regarded.
