SRO Motorsports Australia

Melbourne

The short version

SRO Motorsports Australia leads GT racing in Australia. We own GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS and Monochrome GT4 Australia, two national GT racing championships that take us to some of the best circuits in the country. We are also the promoter of Shannons SpeedSeries platform.

We are now looking for a Motorsport Operations Coordinator to join our small core team in Melbourne: someone a few years in their motorsport career with interest in the sport as a whole: hospitality, events, category management and admin. Someone who wants to learn fast, work hard and help make every race weekend run smoothly.

You need energy, reliability, accountability, proven organisational & admin talent and a genuine desire to build a career in motorsport. You also must be a team player and comfortable with interacting and initiating conversations with all stakeholders.

What you'll actually do The role covers four focus areas:

1. SpeedSeries Hospitality Coordination (before and at events)

Coordinate and run SpeedSeries hospitality spaces. Liaise with the venues and service providers, manage budget and look after teams, drivers, partners and guests from enquiries to onsite execution, and rebookings.

2. SpeedSeries Event Assistance (mainly admin, prior to events)

Assist with SpeedSeries event preparation, administration and followup between rounds, working with the core team from our Wheelers Hill office

3. Team Relations Coordination (mainly onsite)

Be a friendly and knowledgeable onsite contact for race teams, officials and suppliers across the event weekend when it comes to admin, accreditation, sign-on, briefings, paddock and garage logistics.

Support event setup and packdown (bump in and bump out days).

4. Category Management

Coordinate a category, including but not limited to customer acquisition, team communications, timetables, operational set up, paddock arrangements etc.

You will attend the GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS and GT4 Australia events as per the 2027 calendar, plus up to four additional events.

What you'll learn

You'll join the Australian arm of a global organisation promoting top GT racing across four continents, and learn how a national championship is run end to end. We are a small team and we give real responsibility early: show us you thrive with it and you'll get more, and we'll say so when you do it well .

Who we're looking for

- Experience in motorsport or live sports events and hospitality in a customer facing role, and a working knowledge of the Australian motorsport landscape.
- Organised and reliable: you do what you say you'll do. You ask good questions when you need support.
- A people person: approachable and skilled with teams and guests. Comfortable with dealing with people in person, over the phone and by email, happy to assist until the matter is resolved.
- Full Australian working rights (overseas applicants must hold a full working visa at time of application), a current driver's licence and the ability to travel interstate.
- Ability to attend the office in Wheelers Hill, Melbourne in person on set days, on average three times a week.

Is this role for you? Race weekends can mean early starts, long days on your feet and interstate travel several times a season. We plan in advance, look after each other, and make sure the load is sustainable, but this is not a 9-to-5 or Monday to Friday. Race weekends are deadlines that don't move. If that sounds like an adventure rather than a warning, we'd love to hear from you!

What we offer

- AUD $60,000-70,000 + super, all event travel and accommodation covered
- Real responsibility from day one, direct mentoring, and a small team with a big impact where your contribution is visible and valued.
- A front row seat in a global organisation running GT racing in Australia.

How to apply Email your CV and a short note (up to 10 sentences) on why you want this role to [email protected]. Applications close 29 October. We review applications as they arrive and reply to every applicant. Applications via other channels are not acknowledged.

For all questions, please contact Series Manager Matleena Pukkila, [email protected].
