About the Role
This is a role where being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement. This means that your lived experience, cultural knowledge and community connection is essential to succeeding in this role and the services being provided.
Respectful Workplace Support is a key part of the new Organisational Capability & Performance function, and this role ensures Aboriginal lived experience and cultural knowledge are reflected in how we design and deliver respectful workplace prevention, education and early support.
You are passionate about creating culturally secure and inclusive workplaces and bring strong relationship-building skills, sound judgement and a collaborative approach. You can provide trusted, confidential support to employees and leaders, navigate sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism, and contribute to practical solutions that strengthen respectful workplace behaviours and positive workplace culture across Legal Aid NSW.
About You
You bring Aboriginal lived experience,
cultural knowledge and a passion for creating culturally safe and respectful workplaces. You are an experienced relationship builder who can provide trusted support, navigate sensitive conversations with care and professionalism, and work collaboratively with employees, leaders and teams.
You have an understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing Aboriginal employees in the workplace and can use your insights to contribute to practical initiatives that strengthen cultural safety, inclusion and respectful workplace behaviours across the organisation.

The Role's Essential Requirements
- Applicants for this role must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. You must be able to demonstrate your Aboriginality in your application.
- Undertake relevant pre-employment checks such as Working with Children Check, Criminal Record Check and Conduct Service Check
- Be willing to travel to regional and metropolitan offices as required
