About us

Oceanfront Hotel Cairns is a 155-room waterfront hotel. We're looking for an experienced, multi-skilled tradesperson to join our team and help keep the property looking its best.

About the role

This is a full time contract role covering painting, plastering and carpentry across guest rooms, common areas and back-of-house. You'll work closely with hotel management to plan and complete repairs, refurbishments and ongoing maintenance, while keeping disruption to guests to a minimum.

Duties include:

- Interior painting, including preparation and touch-ups
- Plastering, patching and repairing walls and ceilings
- General carpentry: doors, frames, skirting, joinery and fit-out repairs
- Room refreshes and defect rectification
- Keeping work areas clean,



safe and guest-ready

About you:

- Proven trade experience in painting, plastering and/or carpentry (multi-skilled is a big plus)
- Current ABN and public liability insurance
- QBCC licence where required for the work
- White Card
- High-quality finish and attention to detail
- Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently
- Professional and respectful in a working hotel environment with guests on site
