Night Bakery & Pastry Assistant

Breadfern Bakery is looking for a reliable and experienced Night Bakery & Pastry Assistant to join our night production team in Redfern.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who has previous experience working with pastries or in a commercial bakery. You will be responsible for helping bake, finish, decorate and pack a range of pastries and breads ready for the following day's service.

Working hours:

Thursday, Friday & Saturday

6:00 PM – 2:00 AM

Approximately 24 hours per week

Key responsibilities:

- Baking a range of pastries and bakery products
- Finishing and decorating pastries to our required standard
- Preparing products for baking and following production schedules
- Packing pastries and breads for the following day's service
- Monitoring baking times, temperatures and product quality
- Using commercial bakery equipment safely
- Keeping the bakery, benches and equipment clean and organised
- Working efficiently with the night production team to complete daily production

What we're looking for:

- Previous experience in a bakery,



pastry kitchen or similar commercial environment
- Good understanding of pastry preparation and baking
- Ability to work confidently and independently after training
- Good attention to detail and consistency
- Reliable, punctual and organised
- Comfortable working night shifts
- Available consistently on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights
- Able to work in a rapid-paced production environment

Bakery or pastry qualifications are an advantage, but practical experience and ability are more important. Pay: $30–$33 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
