About the role

This is a hands-on role in a busy industrial environment, combining bookkeeping, office management, customer service and weighbridge administration.

We’re looking for someone who is organised, confident, reliable and comfortable dealing with customers, truck drivers, suppliers and yard staff throughout the day.

Key responsibilities

- Day-to-day bookkeeping and office administration
- Extensive daily use of Xero
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Bank and account reconciliations
- Creating and issuing customer invoices
- Processing and paying supplier bills
- Cash handling, balancing and reconciliation
- Maintaining accurate financial and administrative records
- Operating the weighbridge and accurately processing vehicle weights and transactions
- Dealing directly with customers at the yard
- Communicating with truck drivers and yard operators via UHF two-way radio

About you

- Previous bookkeeping experience and solid understanding of Australian bookkeeping practices
- Confident using Xero accounting software and Microsoft programs




- Previous accounts payable and accounts receivable experience

- Experience with reconciliations
- Experience creating invoices and processing bills

- Cash handling experience
- Previous office administration or office management experience

- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Confidence working independently and taking ownership of the office
- Good computer skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience within Scrap Metal or a similar industry will be highly advantageous but not essential
