Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll lead our Production Manufacturing team and own people management, GMP and WHS compliance, investigations and continuous improvement across the area. What you'll do
- Lead and supervise the Manufacturing team, making effective use of people and equipment to meet production schedules.
- Act as backup to the Operations Manager during absences, keeping production running smoothly.
- Coordinate quality and continuous improvement processes within Production, ensuring compliance with GMP, WHS and our internal quality systems.
- Manage non-conformances and non-conforming batches, lead escalated investigations and prepare investigation reports.
- Drive the close-out of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) and Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
- Enforce production instructions and material handling procedures, and keep production documentation and processes accurate and up to date.
- Conduct and coordinate scheduled cGMP and WHS area audits, and support internal and external audit preparation, participation and follow-up.
- Report departmental metrics in daily Tier 1–2 meetings and escalate issues to Tier 3.
- Use Redzone, our production OEE tool, to monitor performance in real time and analyse downtime and loss data to drive CI initiatives.
- Coach the team on using Redzone for communication, escalation and workflow.
- Support troubleshooting and initiatives that improve efficiency, reduce costs and optimise labour.
All production activities are undertaken in line with GMP, WHS and our quality systems.
What you'll bring
- A tertiary qualification in science, engineering or a related technical field, or significant pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Production and quality experience in a pharmaceutical, food or cosmetics manufacturing workplace.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, ideally in manufacturing.
- A working knowledge of GMP and a sound understanding of WHS principles.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft 365 and ERP/MES systems.
- Experience with Redzone or similar performance software, and exposure to Lean or Six Sigma, will be highly regarded.
- We select people based on capability and aptitude, with a strong emphasis on cultural fit: a positive mindset, a practical approach to problem-solving and a willingness to own your performance.
