About the role

Working directly with the Managing Director, you'll take responsibility for operational performance across all divisions. You'll have the authority to lead, make decisions, implement systems and develop a high-performing team.

Key responsibilities

- Overseeing residential, commercial and specialist project delivery
- Leading Project Managers, Leading Hands and field teams
- Managing workforce scheduling, labour allocation and productivity
- Driving project profitability, budgets and operational performance
- Developing, implementing and refining systems, processes and SOPs to improve efficiency and scalability
- Creating clear reporting structures, KPIs and accountability across the business
- Developing and implementing staff retention strategies, including employee engagement, recognition, career development and succession planning
- Building a positive, high-performance workplace culture that attracts, develops and retains exceptional people
- Maintaining exceptional standards of quality, safety and client satisfaction
- Supporting recruitment, staff development and long-term operational growth

About you

- Has successfully led sizeable teams across multiple projects or locations
- Understands financial performance, labour costs and profitability
- Has strong organisational and problem-solving abilities




- Can confidently make decisions and manage competing priorities
- Has experience developing people, improving employee engagement and implementing effective staff retention initiatives
- Knows how to develop managers and build high-performing teams
- Combines commercial awareness with exceptional communication and leadership skills
- Takes ownership of outcomes and leads by example
- Robust background in systemisation, process improvement and operational efficiency
- Experience in painting, construction, maintenance or trade services is highly regarded
