About the role The Operations Manager will play a key role in the overall success of AHSS projects, overseeing the process from estimating and tendering through to project delivery, completion and handover.

This is a senior operational position rather than a site-supervisory role.

You will be responsible for ensuring projects are accurately estimated, properly planned, resourced and delivered efficiently, while maintaining AHSS's standards for safety, quality, profitability and client service.

Working closely with senior management, project managers, supervisors, installers, subcontractors, suppliers and clients, you will help ensure the AHSS operation runs efficiently and projects are delivered successfully.

Full training will be provided on AHSS systems, products, estimating processes and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

Estimating & Tendering

- Review incoming project opportunities, plans, specifications and tender documentation
- Prepare project estimates and quotations
- Measure and quantify materials, labour, access requirements and equipment
- Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions and potential variations
- Liaise with clients, builders and consultants during the estimating and tender process
- Assist with developing project budgets and cost forecasts
- Review project scope and ensure proposed solutions meet relevant standards and client requirements
- Ability to learn and apply AHSS estimating systems and processes with training and support provided

Project Operations

- Oversee the delivery of multiple projects from commencement through to completion
- Coordinate project managers, supervisors, installers, subcontractors, suppliers and other resources




- Develop project delivery plans and ensure resources are available when required
- Monitor project progress, costs, labour and materials
- Identify and resolve operational issues before they impact project delivery
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standard
- Monitor project profitability and assist with financial reporting
- Review variations, additional works and changes in scope
- Ensure projects are properly documented and closed out

Team & Resource Management

- Coordinate and support the operations team
- Allocate labour and resources across projects
- Work with supervisors and project managers to improve productivity and efficiency
- Manage subcontractor performance and engagement
- Assist with recruitment, training and development of operational staff
- Establish clear expectations around quality, productivity and accountability
- Promote a positive and professional team culture

Quality, Safety & Compliance

- Ensure all projects are delivered in accordance with AHSS procedures and standards
- Maintain a strong focus on WHS and working-at-heights compliance
- Ensure appropriate SWMS, permits, documentation and site requirements are addressed
- Monitor quality of workmanship and project outcomes
- Assist with resolving defects, non-conformances and client concerns
- Ensure project documentation, photographs and compliance records are completed and maintained





Client & Stakeholder Management

- Build and maintain strong relationships with builders, clients, consultants and key stakeholders
- Attend project meetings where required
- Provide support to the team in resolving client and project issues
- Assist with maintaining and developing AHSS's client relationships
- Represent AHSS professionally throughout the project lifecycle

About you

- Experience in a construction-based role, construction administration, project coordination, estimating or project management will be highly regarded
- Robust organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities
- Good understanding of construction plans and project documentation
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Work Authorisation: Australia (Required)
