Gooburrum Out of School Hours Care (GOSHC) is offering a permanent part-time position for a suitably qualified OSHC Coordinator Educator. The service is well-established and licensed for up to 30 children in a purpose-built facility, providing before-school, after-school and vacation care.
Key responsibilities
- Provide children with a safe, secure, welcoming and nurturing environment
- Develop, implement, and evaluate the day-to-day delivery of care and operations of the service
- Manage administration, staffing, accreditation processes, and finance management
- Support the professional development and management of the GOSHC Education team
- Build meaningful, trusting, and respectful relationships with children and their caregivers
- Lead a team through supporting and mentoring other Educators
- Plan, programme, and observe children's developmental growth
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff and governing agencies
About you
- Working towards or holding a Diploma of Children's Services or approved equivalent (consideration will be given to applicants with Cert III in Children's Services and relevant experience commensurate with the role requirements)
- Current approved First Aid/CPR certificate and Anaphylaxis & Asthma training
- Working with Children check / Current Paid Blue Card
- Have completed or willing to complete child protection training
- Have relevant police checks and/or willing to undertake a National Police check
- Strong understanding of the National Quality Standards, accreditation processes and the My Time, Our Place National Quality framework
- Robust understanding of children's learning and development and a positive approach to guiding children's behaviour
- Excellent communication both written and verbal within the school community
- Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
- Adequate computing skills with working knowledge of childcare related software (Hubhello/Qikkids)
