The Shire of Moora is seeking a motivated and practical Parks and Gardens Supervisor to lead a small team responsible for maintaining the Shire’s parks, reserves, gardens and public spaces. Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and support the day-to-day operations of the Parks and Gardens team.

- Allocate tasks and monitor work progress to ensure quality outcomes.

- Lead by example through hands-on participation in maintenance activities.

- Promote safe work practices and maintain a strong safety culture.

- Assist with planning, scheduling and prioritising maintenance works.

- Coordinate maintenance of parks, reserves, gardens and public open spaces.

- Liaise with contractors and internal stakeholders when required.

- Identify maintenance needs and report operational or resource requirements.

- Support the ongoing improvement and presentation of public spaces.

- Managing and maintaining the Shire’s reticulation systems.

What We Are Looking For

Essential Criteria

- Experience in horticulture, parks or grounds maintenance

- Demonstrated team leadership and supervision capability

- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices

- Experience with irrigation, lawn maintenance and herbicide application

- Strong communication and organisational skills

- Ability to undertake physical work in a variety of weather conditions

- Current C Class driver’s licence

- Valid Construction Induction Card (White Card)

Desirable Criteria

- Certificate III, or higher, in Horticulture or a related discipline.

- HR driver’s licence.

- Previous experience in a Local Government environment.

Other employment requirements

- Provision of a current satisfactory National Police Clearance
- A Pre-Employment Medical Assessment, including Drug and Alcohol Testing
