Coburg North

People Power Consulting is looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team in Coburg North. This permanent, full-time position offers varied payroll and employee administration work across established hospitality brands, food manufacturing operations and other client businesses.

Working alongside our General Manager, HR, accounts and external payroll teams, you’ll help coordinate accurate payroll and employee information across multiple clients and venues.

Required: Previous payroll experience across multiple awards, robust attention to detail and confidence working with payroll and workforce management systems.

Salary: $75,000–$80,000 per annum + superannuation, depending on experience.

Location: Coburg North, Melbourne VIC – onsite.

Employment: Permanent full-time, with an immediate start available.

Who we are

People Power Consulting is the HR division of the Gradi Group, providing HR and payroll services to the group and a range of other client brands. Our portfolio spans restaurants, fast food venues and food manufacturing, bringing together businesses with different teams, employment arrangements and payroll requirements.

What you’ll do

- Support employee administration from onboarding and payroll setup through to employment changes and offboarding.
- Assist with payroll preparation, processing and checking, coordinating with accounts and external payroll providers according to each client’s arrangements.
- Review timesheets and process or coordinate leave, overtime, penalties, allowances, reimbursements and adjustments.

- Maintain accurate employee records and communicate changes to the relevant teams before payroll deadlines.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, payment files and journals, and assist with STP reporting and superannuation administration.
- Respond to payroll enquiries, investigate discrepancies and follow through with the appropriate teams to resolve them.

What you’ll bring

- Practical payroll experience in an environment covered by multiple awards, with confidence interpreting and applying different employment conditions.
- Experience managing payroll information for casual, part-time and full-time employees.
- Familiarity with payroll and workforce management systems, plus a willingness to learn the platforms used across our clients.
- Strong organisation, accuracy and discretion when handling employee information.
- Clear communication and the ability to coordinate effectively with employees, managers and payroll providers.
- Experience supporting onboarding, employment changes and termination administration.

We use Roubler, Deputy and Xero, and practical experience with these programs will be highly regarded, particularly where it enables you to contribute confidently from the outset.

Applicants with relevant payroll experience using other systems and a willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply. Our clients primarily operate under the Food, Beverage and Tobacco Manufacturing Award 2020, Restaurant Industry Award and Fast Food Industry Award. Experience with these awards is advantageous; a solid background working across multiple awards is the key requirement.

Why join us?

Join our team in an ongoing role with exposure to different businesses and the full employee lifecycle. You’ll work alongside HR, accounts and management, contributing to the coordination that keeps payroll and employee administration running smoothly.

This is an onsite position. Flexible working arrangements may be considered following successful completion of the probationary period, subject to business requirements. Ongoing onsite attendance remains a requirement of the role.

If you take pride in accurate payroll and enjoy working collaboratively across different teams, we’d love to hear from you. Apply with your CV and include your availability to commence.

Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia.

Please note that due to the volume of applications we may receive, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.
