This well-established Australian business in the consumer services sector is respected for what it offers customers and for how it treats its people. It's growing steadily both locally and offshore. It puts real weight on staff wellbeing, and there's a clear culture of developing and promoting from within.
An exciting chance has arisen for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a small, supportive payroll team on a long-term contract, reporting to the Payroll Manager. You'll look after domestic payroll from start to finish and support the international side of the function. You'll also play a hands-on part in a major systems upgrade. Your main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Owning domestic pay runs from timesheet through to payment
- Working with overseas payroll partners to make sure international employees are paid correctly and on time
- Auditing employee records and fixing inconsistencies before the move to a new platform
- Helping with system testing and data migration as part of a business-wide technology upgrade
- Making sure awards, super, tax and Fair Work requirements are applied correctly every cycle
- Answering staff and manager pay queries clearly and promptly
- Producing reconciliations, journals and reports for the Finance team, including year-end and audit
- Stepping in across the payroll team when needed to keep everything running smoothly
To be considered for this role you will have 3–4 years' end-to-end Australian payroll experience, a strong grasp of awards, super and tax, and confidence on a cloud-based payroll system. You're accurate, strong in Excel, discreet with sensitive information and calm under tight deadlines. Exposure to data clean-up, system migrations or international payroll will help you stand out.
