About the role

Greenbase is a growing sustainability business of around 40 people, based in the Perth CBD. We're building a team of talented technical and professional people, and we care as much about how we work as what we deliver.

You'll work closely with the leadership team to shape culture, strengthen people practices and support business performance. Your focus will balance a high-performing culture with sound, practical HR governance and compliance. In a small business there's no team to delegate to, so you'll set the direction and do the work - writing the policy, running the interview, having the conversation. The goal is a high-performing culture where people do their best work and grow while they do it.

We run on trust and keep process light. As the team grows we'll need more structure in places, not less - and knowing where process genuinely helps, versus where it just adds friction, is a big part of the role. Build what we need, and protect the culture while you do it.

The role is part-time (3-4 days a week) and isn't available full time. We're flexible on how the hours land - spread across the week, condensed into fewer days, or shaped around school hours or other commitments.

- Own end-to-end hiring for technical and professional roles

HR operations & compliance

- Own contracts, offers, policies and HR records - kept simple and light-touch
- Help managers and teams work through issues early and directly
- Keep compliance watertight - Fair Work, WHS, Australian employment law

About you

- 5+ years in HR generalist or P&C; roles, ideally in a small, growing business
- A genuine interest in building culture and helping people perform at their best
- Handles difficult conversations with sound judgement and proper documentation
- Solid working knowledge of Australian employment law and Fair Work obligations
- Experience across recruitment, onboarding, performance and employee relations
- Comfortable working autonomously and improving processes as the business grows
- Sound judgement, discretion, and warmth with people at every level

Nice to have

- A qualification in HR, business or a related field (or AHRI membership)
- Experience supporting technical, engineering or professional services teams
- Experience in tech/SaaS or consultancy
