Take the lead in growing Personal Training at Fitness Cartel Mackay.

Fitness Cartel Mackay is looking for an experienced, commercially driven Personal Training Manager to take ownership of developing and growing our Personal Training department.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established fitness club, build on its existing foundations and take the PT department to the next level through effective recruitment, trainer development and strong commercial leadership.

You'll play a key role in the club's ongoing success, combining hands-on recruitment, coaching and business development with responsibility for building a thriving, high-performing PT department.

The Prospect

As Personal Training Manager, your primary focus will be recruiting, developing and retaining a successful team of Personal Trainers, helping them build sustainable, profitable businesses while delivering exceptional experiences for our members.

Approximately 80% of your time will be dedicated to recruiting, mentoring, coaching and developing trainers, with the balance focused on performance management, business planning and working closely with club leadership.

You'll have the opportunity to strengthen the department's performance, establish consistent development standards and contribute directly to the club's ongoing growth.

What You'll Be Doing

- Lead the recruitment, selection and onboarding of new Personal Trainers.

- Build, mentor and develop a motivated, commercially successful PT team.

- Deliver structured coaching, business development and performance sessions.

- Drive PT department growth through recruitment, trainer retention and revenue performance.

- Establish clear performance expectations, KPIs and accountability across the team.

- Collaborate with club management to maximise member engagement, PT conversion and retention.

- Support trainers with lead generation, sales processes, client acquisition and business planning.

- Maintain professional standards,



compliance and operational excellence throughout the department.

- Identify opportunities to improve existing processes, trainer performance and the overall member experience.

- Contribute to a positive, professional and results-driven culture at Fitness Cartel Mackay.

What We're Looking For

Experience

- Minimum 3 years' experience in fitness management, personal training leadership, gym operations or fitness sales.

- Demonstrated experience recruiting, coaching and developing successful teams.

- Proven ability to achieve commercial targets and drive measurable performance.

- Strong understanding of the Personal Training business model and what it takes for trainers to succeed.

- Experience growing, restructuring or improving an existing PT department will be highly regarded.

Qualifications

- Certificate III and IV in Fitness or equivalent.

- Current First Aid and CPR certification.

- Ability to obtain relevant background checks as required.

Competitive Remuneration

- Year 1 earning potential: $80,000–$90,000 OTE, including base salary and performance incentives.
