Plant Fitter & Light Vehicle Mechanic – Sydney

Flomar is growing, and we're looking for a skilled Plant Fitter & Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. This is a hands-on role split between our workshop and on-site field work across Sydney, keeping our plant, equipment and fleet safe, reliable and working.

About the Role

You'll service, repair and maintain a mix of construction plant and light vehicles, both in the workshop and out in the field. You'll be trusted to work independently, diagnose problems quickly and keep downtime to a minimum.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Carry out scheduled servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on plant, equipment and light vehicles
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and engine faults
- Perform field repairs and breakdown call-outs at job sites across Sydney
- Repair and maintain light vehicles, including brakes, suspension, steering, drivetrain, tyres and general servicing
- Service and repair plant such as excavators, loaders, compactors, generators, trailers and small plant
- Replace worn or damaged components, hoses, filters, fluids and wearing parts
- Complete pre-delivery, roadworthy and safety inspections
- Keep accurate service records, job cards and maintenance logs




- Order and manage parts and consumables, and keep the company tool van/ute stocked and organised
- Follow all WHS requirements, safe work procedures and site induction rules
- Keep the workshop and work areas clean, safe and tidy
- Report defects, safety concerns and recurring faults to management

Requirements

- Mechanical qualification (plant mechanic, heavy vehicle, light vehicle or equivalent)
- 3+ years of proven experience
- Current White Card
- HR licence preferred
- Sound diagnostic skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual and committed to safe work practice
- Current driver's licence
