The Role

We are looking for a dedicated Plastic Production Supervisor to oversee daily plastic recycling and production operations. This hands-on role involves leading the production team, coordinating materials and equipment, and ensuring production targets and quality standards are met safely and efficiently.

You will also provide practical training, troubleshoot machinery, carry out routine maintenance, and resolve operational issues to keep production running smoothly.

Responsibilities

- Supervise daily plastic production activities, including material receiving, sorting, processing, storage, and dispatch.
- Allocate employees, equipment, and production resources to meet daily priorities and production targets.
- Monitor production output, productivity, downtime, product quality, contamination levels, and material recovery.
- Ensure employees follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, health, safety and environmental (HSE) requirements, and correct equipment operating procedures.
- Lead toolbox talks, report incidents and hazards, and participate in investigations and corrective actions.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised production area, promptly addressing unsafe practices and conditions.




- Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and clear direction to production employees.
- Manage day-to-day employee matters, including attendance, performance, and workplace conflict, seeking support from management and HR where required.
- Conduct regular equipment checks, troubleshoot faults, and carry out routine maintenance within your training and authorisation.
- Coordinate with external maintenance contractors and assist with equipment repairs and servicing.
- Identify and resolve production, quality, and workflow issues, recommend process improvements, and escalate significant concerns to management.
- Support compliance with company management systems and regulatory requirements, including internal and external audits.
- Maintain accurate production, quality, maintenance, and operational records, and provide daily production reports to management.

Skills and Experience

- Experience supervising or leading a team in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production processes, material handling, and equipment operation.
- Practical experience in machine troubleshooting and routine equipment maintenance.
- Ability to coordinate production activities, allocate resources, and manage competing priorities.
- Experience working effectively with external maintenance contractors.
- Positive people management and communication skills, including the ability to train and support employees.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond promptly to equipment and production issues.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and monitor production performance.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
